A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

I’m lucky to have had the opportunity to travel the world and explore multiple job sectors in order to establish what I am truly passionate about. From a young age I’ve been focused and goal driven, having grown up in a military family that strongly promoted adaptability and discipline as core values. These traits have seen me overcome numerous challenges throughout my life, most significantly including recovering from a broken neck during my final year of university and still go on to achieve a BSc Hons degree (1st Class) and to be named on the Dean's List for my academic achievement.

On finishing University, I sought to further test my physical and mental resilience by challenging myself to self-fund a years independent working holiday in New Zealand where I had no prior contacts or support. Further details of my adventures in NZ can be found in the blog that I kept up to date during my travels for friends and family in back home.

Having enjoyed achieving this goal, I then continued my travelling to South East Asia where I set myself the further challenge of learning to dive; I successfully completed both my PADI Open Water Qualification and Advanced Open Water Qualification in 2 weeks in Koh Tao, Thailand. On returning to the UK, I was able to secure a new job in the travel industry within 3 weeks of landing and was successful in my application to move to a position of greater responsibility within the first 7 months at the company.

In light of the recent Coronavirus pandemic, I have been active in the period that I was furloughed to up-skill myself through online learning. I am delighted to have rekindled a passion for computing in this time and am now seeking to build on what I have learned and pursue a career in Software Development; particularly website and app development through HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

I’m a hard worker, a team player and excited to see what projects could benefit from my unique skill set. I’d love to chat with you about how we might work together in the future.
